We are pleased to announce that the Foundation has committed to a three year top up scholarship in support of Annabel Sorby-Adams, PhD Candidate within the School of Medicine at the University of Adelaide.
Annabel’s research is focused on improving the translation of novel treatments from the lab into the clinic, through the use of appropriate pre-clinical models. Specifically, her research is targeted at exposing the mechanisms of the development of cerebral oedema and elevated intracranial pressure following stroke to reduce disability and improve outcomes.
Our aim is to support PhD candidates, such as Annabel, but also to raise funds to award prizes for early to mid-career researchers in the field. Additionally, we will look to collaborate with the University of Adelaide to support visits to South Australia by international stroke experts.
